Today we work with the leading manufacturers of Wireless Ethernet to Serial devices such as DIGI, Quatech , and Moxa to provide a cost effective solution to our customers. Like all our hardware we only use hardware that has passed our Serial Com Test utility and will perform any Shop Floor Network task demanded of it.WiFi is a technology that enables data transfer over a Wireless Ethernet Network on the 2400Mhz radio frequencies, this removes the need for cabled connections between the DNC Server and/or Ethernet to Serial Hub(s) and CNC machine tools. The CIMCO DNC-Max software works in just the same way whether it is connected to the CNC machines by cables or by a wireless network infrastructure to the IEEE802.11b/g standard.
To prevent unauthorized access to the data or the companies network by means of the wireless network, the integrated encryption of WEP, WPA, WPA2, or CISCO LEEP may be activated.
The operational reliability of wireless data transmission in workshops with strong electromagnetic interference is not a problem. During transmission of the CNC program a multiple check of data packets is performed by the Ethernet TCP protocol. If the data packets cannot be verified perfectly (via header and contents check sums) they are rejected and sent again until the check sums match. This verification ensures that the CNC program arrives safely at the correct machine.
Wireless Units/Clients are mounted on the control of each CNC machine connected to the machine control’s RS232 port.
Each wireless unit/client is programmed with a unique IP Address which ensures that a CNC program cannot be sent to the wrong machine. It also means that all machines are able to recieve/send programs at the same time. |
