Programming Engineer Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement new methods of programming/manufacturing to improve and reduce cost
- Make new programs/setup sheets as required
- Update routings/masters as required
- Investigate/evaluate time standards for jobs
- Modify existing programs/setup sheets as required
- Investigate/evaluate quality issues and resolve
- Purchase/design tooling as required
- Support/work with Supervisors and operators to resolve technical issues
- Support/work with QC when there are issues with inspection
- Match Blue prints to customer orders
- Design and program fixtures for shop
- Design special cutting tools as required
- Quoting and determine proper techniques for manufacturing all machined components
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3-5 years experience full time programming CNC Machines
- Knowledge of standard machining practices
- Blue Print Reading
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Proficient in use of Mastercam
- AutoCAD/SolidWorks exposure
- Knowledge of geometric tolerencing

Summary:
- Set-up and operate CNC equipment with minimal supervision in accordance to set-up sheet, blueprints and operations sheets per customer requirements.

- Set-up and operate on manual machines when required.
- Troubleshoot set-ups and programs when necessary, document changes per procedure.
- Make offsets adjustments to maintain dimensional integrity.
- Documentation of set-ups on to set-up sheets.
- Verify the revision level for the current operation (Programs, operation sheets, blue prints).
- Verify PC. Count and all applicable documentation for completion of previous operations.
- To complete all applicable documentation for the current operation (i.e. Shop traveler sign off and first PC, inspection record sheet)
- Use shop math to assist in all aspects of the job.
- Maintain machine maintenance and log.
- Inspection of work with minimal assistance
Requirements:
- 5+ years machining experience
- Ability to interpret blueprints and operation sheets
- Able to understand programs on CNC machines
- Knowledge of typical inspection equipment and techniques
- Good understanding of shop math. Ability to use trigonometry on blueprints and operation sheets.
