A successful candidate will develop programs for computer-based, numerically controlled machine shop equipment performing unique and innovative operations
for 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers, and mill/turn lathes.
This position requires: Ability to select the proper tooling, speeds and feeds for optimum material removal on very complex, tight tolerance components; Must posses strong analytical and problem solving skills; knowledge of basic PC programs (MS Word, Excel); Must have knowledge of, and ability to apply shop mathematics; Possess an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance; Ability to monitor and debug new methods and procedures.
A four year technical degree, plus seven to ten years experience programming very complex, tight tolerance components for large machining centers. Proficiency in Master Cam preferred. Ability to apply innovative concepts toward set-up reduction and process optimization. Thorough knowledge of “G-Code” language and machine shop practices required. Machinist and/or Engineering background a plus.
